There were 29 awards in the Student, Industry and Professional classes, in addition to the Master Teacher, Alternative Woods and Ecodesign awards

Dancing to hits from the disco era, Casa Brasil announced the Salão Design award winners, the major prize of its kind in Latin America. Twenty-nine awards were given in the Student, Industry and Professional classes, in addition to the Mater Teacher, Alternative Woods and Ecodesign awards. More than 400 people attended the party and were invited to get into the mood wearing Afro wigs.

The director of Salão Design, Cristiano Gallina, highlights that the design is a key element for the development of new products and successful business. “Design is a major element to improve the competitiveness of new products and companies. It is the union between creativity and technology, or rather, the union between designers and manufacturing companies that fosters growth,” he points out.
Among the award-winning veterans were Notus Design Studio based in Belo Horizonte, which has developed its participation in Salão Design. It was one of the finalists in 2010, it received an honorable mention in 2011 and now it was awarded in the Industry class for Banqueta Spin, in partnership with Punto Móbile from Garibaldi. “This award is special for us because the industry class involves very strong marketing issues” says Rodrigo Braga França, one of the designers working for Notus.
Salão Design Casa Brasil 2013 is sponsored by Berneck, Impress and Tramontina Design Collection. The award winners and the other products selected for the final phase of the judgment will be exhibited at Casa Brasil 2013  until next Friday, Aug 16.
