21/01/2013

The first action plan in 2013 developed by Orchestra Brasil, a project that encourages exports, includes taking part in Colombiatex, January 22-24 in Medellín, Colombia. In partnership with the Brazilian Association of Textile and Apparel Industry (Abit), the project will promote the Brazilian furniture design furnishing a lounge with products that received an award during the last edition of Salão Design. The Grass modular system, developed by Argentinean designer Alain Blatché for Butzke, was one of the award winning projects in the Knocked-down Furniture for the International Market, Industry class.

The category was created specifically to foster the internationalization of the furniture sector, in order to promote the Brazilian design and designers abroad in important international fashion shows. The Grass line consists of modular chaises and armchairs that allow unlimited combinations, complying with the basic requirements of the category it was awarded for – the product is easily disassembled, enabling the reduction of logistics costs. According to the judges, although the furniture is large, it takes up little space when disassembled.

Colombiatex showcases in 9,300 square meters of exhibition floor textile raw materials and other sector-based services, featuring approximately 520 exhibitors. This is one of 24 international actions planned for the Orchestra Brasil project in 2013. After the fair, Butzke products will furnish Casa Natura, in Medellín, an initiative taken in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry (Abihpec).
The calendar of the Orchestra Brasil project, organized by Sindmóveis and Apex-Brasil since 2006, includes trade promotional campaigns and  positioning strategies of the furniture sector abroad. Aimed at ensuring the competitiveness of manufacturers of raw materials, components, technologies and design service for the furniture sector in the foreign market, the project is comprised of 68 companies and 25 design studios.
