Orchestra Brasil Project will develop 19 initiatives in 2015

A partnership between Apex-Brasil and Sindmóveis aimed at promoting exports by suppliers to the furniture industry and design services

A calendar has been set with the initiatives planned for 2015 for the sector-based Orchestra Brasil Project – a partnership between Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), for the inclusion of companies that supply the furniture sector in the international market. They will consist of fairs, buyer’s projects and missions to prospect the markets in South Africa, Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, United States, Italy, Guatemala, Mexico and Turkey – totaling 19 initiatives.
The first action was carried out in January, when the project took four companies to KBIS Las Vegas. In March, the Orchestra Brasil will be one of the supporters of the Buyer’s Project held during FIMMA Brasil – International Fair of Machines, Raw Materials and Accessories for the Furniture Industry, held from March 16-20 in Bento Gonçalves. The project will bring together 20 importers to take part in business meetings with more than 70 exhibitors of the fair.
This year, the Orchestra Brasil Project will have a major change in its format, through the segmentation of the participating companies according to their export capacity, which allows targeting resources and adapting actions to the profile of each company. To continue taking part in the project, companies underwent an evaluation of their export capacity and were divided into four categories, according to their operations in foreign markets: non-exporting, exporting beginners, continuous exporters and internationalized. Each category is based on to their wiliness and maturity to export, not being related to the company size, number of employees and volume of exports.
The President of Sindmóveis, Henrique Tecchio, explains that the segmentation allows the organizers to plan different actions for the members in each level. "The non-exporting companies have access to initiatives aimed at understanding the foreign market. Those in the initial phase of exports will be supported to diversify their markets; companies with solid export business will focus on increasing their competitiveness and, finally, the plan for internationalized companies will aim to increase their market share against the main global competitors,” says the president.
According to the manager of the Orchestra Brasil project working for Apex-Brasil, Emanuel Figueira, the segmentation model based on qualifying aspects, including trade, management and operational systems shows the refinement of the project strategy. "With the various actions planned for 2015, we intend to achieve business results vis-à-vis the existing competence in each of the base business. The idea is to optimize the use of available resources and enhance the results of the partnership," he explains.
Currently, the project comprises 73 companies and 50 design studios. The priority markets for 2014 and 2015 are South Africa, Guatemala, Mexico, United States, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Turkey, Bolivia (secondary) and Chile (secondary).
