\nCasa Brasil takes part in the Toy Garden show, held during the S\u00e3o Paulo Design Weekend, August 23 – 26

\nPlaying is something for grown-ups and inspiration for contemporary design, but with plenty of childhood memories. The Toy Garden project exhibits pieces signed by eight renowned Brazilian designers and created especially for the show, which will be held concurrently with the S\u00e3o Paulo Design Weekend, August 23 \u2013 26, at Museu da Casa Brasileira. On August 25, during the cocktail to launch the project, Casa Brasil show will be promoted by giving visitors soap bubble kits.

\nThe developers of the kit include designer Fl\u00e1via Pagotti Silva, an award winner in two categories of Sal\u00e3o Design Movelsul Brasil 2012. She has designed Amarelinha (hopscotch), an adaptation of the traditional children\u2019s game that stimulates physical coordination and numeric knowledge. As the squares are not fixed, they can be arranged in different ways, decreasing or increasing the degree of difficulty of the game, and because they are elevated from the ground, players can develop their balance. Flavia explains that the recreational piece features elements from other games and a set of attractive colors, since the major challenge is to draw the attention of children in times of technological games. “Despite the video game, cell phones and the like, children play with whatever is within reach. That is why I created a simple toy that is easy to handle,” she says.

\nIn addition to Fl\u00e1via, other participants in the project include Em2 Design, Eul\u00e1lia Anselmo, Fernando Mendes, Isabela Vecci, Matheus Martins, Porf\u00edrio Valladares and Alfio Lisi. Prima Design, based in Bento Gon\u00e7alves, is in charge of manufacturing the following toys: Biciclo Caleidosc\u00f3pico (kaleidoscopic velocipede) (Em2 Design) and Gangorra Viking (seesaw) (Eul\u00e1lia Anselmo).
