\nBrazilian companies exhibiting at the KBIS Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, April 24-26 in Chicago (USA) include Promob Softwares, Reval Aramados, Brasmacol, CPI Pap\u00e9is (com a marca Tegus), Pallet do Brasil and Metalsinos. The manufacturers of accessories and raw materials for the furniture industry are exhibiting their products in the booth of the Orchestra Brasil Project, an initiative promoted by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gon\u00e7alves (Sindim\u00f3veis) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) aiming the commercial development and positioning of the member companies abroad.\u00a0
\nThe United States have always been one of the priority markets of the project – currently, the country accounts for 15% of the furniture production in the world, second only to China. As the second largest market of the Orchestra Brasil Project, the USA imports 15% of the products manufactured by the member companies, second only to Argentina. On the other hand, it is the major importer of all segments of the project (accessories, components, finishes, chemicals and technology for furniture) accounting for nearly 25% of world imports, totaling $ 50 billion in 2010.

\nThe Business Intelligence adviser to Sindm\u00f3veis of Bento Gon\u00e7alves, Eduardo Santarossa, points out that, although the USA have experienced a difficult time after the last global financial crisis, their economy have recently begun to show signs of improvement, with positive growth projections for the next year and gradual reduction in unemployment. Santarossa highlights the strength of the USA consumer market, where the per capita income is one of the largest in the world, five times greater than that of Brazil, according to IMF data for 2011. The country has the highest consumption of furniture in the world, also five times higher than in Brazil, totaling approximately $ 75 billion in 2010. “There are nearly 21,000 companies involved in the production of furniture and the woodworking industry in the United States,” he says.
\nThe Orchestra Brasil Project was established in 2006 to encourage the internationalization of the manufacturers of raw materials, components and technology for the furniture industry. This year saw the inclusion of design services, totaling 70 members. The schedule of events for 2012 contains the participation in the following fairs Xylexpo (Milan), Tecnomueble (Guadalajara), IWF (Atlanta), Expo Ferretera (Guadalajara), 100% Design London, Intermob Istanbul, Sibo (Quebec), Fenafor Peru (Lima), Roadshow Mercosul, Design Miami and meetings at the Buyer\u2019s Project during Form\u00f3bile (S\u00e3o Paulo) and Apex-Brasil Business Center in Miami.
