The Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) has already started preparing the 22nd Movelsul Brasil – furniture and accessories fair for shopkeepers and importers, to be held from March 16 to 19, 2020, at Parque de Eventos in Bento Gonçalves. Up until October, the fair had already sold 40% of its exhibit area. With an intense program of concurrent projects and expecting to have more than 200 exhibitors, Movelsul Brasil demands a long period of planning, ensuring an assertive business environment and positioning for the furniture industry<\/p>\n

The president of Sindmóveis, Edson Pelicioli, points out that this will be another challenging show for Movelsul Brasil, which, because of its consolidated nature, has an even stronger commitment to its peers. The last fair, held in March 2018, had 30,284 professional visitors from 33 countries. "We continue working to strengthen the woodworking industry as a whole and we trust Movelsul Brasil's potential as a sales and positioning strategy," he adds.<\/p>\n

Until the end of this year, the commercial department will continue to contact exhibitors and companies prospected to define the exhibit areas. Promoted by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves since 1977, Movelsul Brasil is the largest business platform in Latin America for the furniture business, providing a sales environment and image enhancement for the furniture, decoration and accessory industry.<\/p>\n

In addition to verified attendees including Brazilian retailers and specifiers, Movelsul Brasil has a strong international position in markets of interest to the Brazilian furniture industry. The promotion of content related to the sector will continue in 2020, with the second Movelsul Forum. Other projects of the fair include the Salão Design Award, the International Buyer’s Project and the Retail Project.<\/p>\n

Along its history, Movelsul Brasil has already had more than 1,700 exhibiting companies. The first show was held in 1977, the year when the furniture industry consolidated as the leading economic activity in Bento Gonçalves. The 1st Mostra do Mobiliário in Bento Gonçalves brought together 24 local furniture manufacturers. In 1988, the fair was renamed Movelsul, featuring more than 100 exhibitors. That year also saw the first Salão Design Award. The fair takes place every two years, bringing together manufacturers of furniture for offices, kitchens, bedrooms, laundry rooms, bathrooms, gardens, dining and living rooms, in addition to home appliances, rugs, upholstery and mattresses.<\/p>\n
