Movelsul Brasil, the major furniture fair for shopkeepers and specifiers in Latin America, launches an unprecedented and valuable project for the 2018 show, which will be held from March 12 – 15, in Bento Gonçalves (RS). Called Retail Project, the initiative challenges exhibitors to develop products signed by designers that meet the specific demands of the domestic retailer trade. Tying together the fair, the industry, the designers and the retail trade, the project increases the harmony between the furniture sector and the main current national players in the retail trade.<\/p>\n

In order to list these demands for innovation, product type and sales appeal, the Sindmóveis team conducted a qualitative research survey in recent months surveying some of the main store chains that buy from the furniture companies that exhibit at Moveslsul Brasil. The compilation of this information resulted in a briefing that was presented to the exhibitors and will support the development of products, which can be signed by in-company designers or hired studios.<\/p>\n

The director of the Salão Design Award, Eduardo Nuncio, was Sindmóveis spokesperson at the presentation of the Retail Project to the exhibitors. He highlighted the projects developed by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves throughout its 40-year history to leverage the national furniture industry, such as the establishment of Movelsul Brasil, the Salão Design Award, the internationalization projects conducted by the association and now the Retail Project.<\/p>\n

Nuncio points out that the study conducted by Sindmóveis surveying shopkeepers was essential to align the expectations and reality of different customers. Sindmóveis, according to Nuncio, believes that design is one of the industry's greatest competitiveness tools. Based on the proposal to combine innovation and design, the fair management wants to generate more business for manufacturing companies during the fair. Assertiveness will set the tone for Movelsul Brasil 2018. "Our ultimate goal is for sales to be successful, but its advantages go beyond that. Our mission as an association and an industry representative is to promote the link between manufacturing companies and the retail trade based on design and this relates to the sustainability of the industry in the future," he says.<\/p>\n

Demands identified<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to participate in the Retail Project, each exhibiting company can produce up to three products contained in the briefing presented. They must be signed either by an in-company or hired designer and must comply with the requirements set forth therein. These new products shown at the exhibitor’s booth will be highlighted during Movelsul Brasil 2018 by bearing a seal that attests to their participation and the concern of the company in welcoming and meeting the demands of the retail trade.<\/p>\n

In general, the survey carried out by Sindmóveis pointed out the great concern of the stores about the suitability of the products to the e-commerce – not only in relation to ease of transportation and resistance of the pieces, but also the use  of simplified manuals and technical sheets suitable for DIY assembly.<\/p>\n

Project aligned with the fair marketing campaign <\/strong> <\/p>\n

Betting on the gradual resumption of the national furniture industry performance, Movelsul Brasil 2018 organized a campaign that values the tourist attributes of Serra Gaúcha and the tradition of its furniture industry.  Using a design motto, the campaign of the furniture fair appeals to exhibitors and visitors: "Design is in our nature". As design is in Movelsul Brasil DNA , in the fair on a daily basis, in the environment of Bento Gonçalves, in the landscape, in everything that surrounds this region that produces great furniture and great wines. The terroir that exists in the furniture center of Bento Gonçalves is the great competitive edge of the region and plays an outstanding role in the campaign of the event.<\/p>\n

Movelsul Brasil 2018, a furniture fair for shopkeepers and importers, will be held from March 12 – 15, 2018, Monday to Thursday, at Parque de Eventos in Bento Gonçalves (RS). Two hundred exhibitors are expected to show furniture for offices, kitchens, bedrooms, laundry rooms, bathrooms, gardens, dining and living rooms, in addition to rugs, upholstery and mattresses.<\/p>\n
