The judging panel that will choose the best projects is already prepared for the assessment work beginning in the second week of November. Consisting of five professionals in the field of architecture and design, the judging panel will lend their expertise to the competition having experience to their advantage. Four of the jurors have participated in previous editions: &nbsp;architects Ilse Lang and Isabela Vecci and designers Ivens Fontoura and Leonardo Lattavo. &nbsp;Executive Gl&aacute;ucia Binda, representing the industry field, is participating for the first time.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Held since 1988 by Sindm&oacute;veis Bento Gon&ccedil;alves, Sal&atilde;o Design encourages creativity, entrepreneurship and technological innovation applied to furniture and accessories through design. In these 26 years, more than 11,200 projects have entered the competition, which is considered the largest of its kind in Latin America. In 2015, the cash prize will total R$ 205,000 in the following classes: Student, Professional and Industry.<\/div>\n<div>Entries will be evaluated in two phases, the first will be held from November 17 to 28, when the judging panel assesses the graphic projects entered and selects the finalists based on criteria that include project concept, form and function, ergonomics, degree of innovation and environmental sustainability. In the following phase, the finalists submit their products or a life-size prototype to be judged in Bento Gon&ccedil;alves. In addition to the cash prize, the award winners receive the Sal&atilde;o Design Stamp, which can be used on the product as recognition of excellence in design.<\/div>\n<div>Learn more about the judging panel<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><strong>Glaucia Binda<\/strong> (Paran&aacute;) &#8211; Manager and designer, she has a post-graduate degree in Marketing, Furniture Design and Emotional Design. She has worked in the furniture industry for more than 17 years. Since 2002, she has been the Manager of Design and Products at Impress Decor Brasil. Glaucia is a lecturer at national and international design events, where she talks about macro trends, surface design and emotional design. This is her first participation as a member of the judging panel of Sal&atilde;o Design.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><strong>Ilse Lang<\/strong> (Rio Grande do Sul) &ndash;Architect and founder of Faro Design in Porto Alegre. She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions of Brazilian design and has also received the following awards: Sal&atilde;o Design Casa Brasil and Movelsul Brasil, If Design Idea Brazil and Arc Design. She was a member of the judging panel of Sal&atilde;o Design Casa Brasil 2013 and 2014.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><strong>Isabela Vecci<\/strong> (Minas Gerais) &ndash; Architect graduated from Faculdades Metodistas Izabela Hendrix. She works with interior design for commercial, residential and corporate architecture, and also in the field of museography, scenography and design. Her major projects include the museography for the Museu Casa Padre Toledo in Tiradentes, the design of a furniture collection for L&iacute;der Interiores, and the project to standardize Clube Atl&eacute;tico Mineiro stores. Her first participation as a member of the judging panel of Sal&atilde;o Design was in 2014. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><strong>Ivens Fontoura<\/strong> (Paran&aacute;) &ndash; Designer, museologist and art and design critic. As a university professor he set up the first postgraduate course in Furniture Design in Brazil at (UNOPAR, Londrina &ndash; PR). He chaired the National Association of Designers and the Asociac&oacute;n Latinoamericana de Dise&ntilde;o. He writes about design, teaches Theory of Design and is the president of ABCD &ndash; Brazilian Association of Design Critics. He is the professional who has participated longer in the judging panel of Sal&atilde;o Design: a total of 11 events. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><strong>Leonardo Lattavo<\/strong> (Rio de Janeiro) &ndash; Architect and urban planner with a Master&rsquo;s in architecture from Bartlett School of Architecture of London. Professor of Architecture at Pontif&iacute;cia Universidade Cat&oacute;lica (PUC) in Rio de Janeiro and founding member of Lattoog, a company based in Rio de Janeiro specializing in design and architecture.
