On June 29, the international team of Sindmóveis receives in Bento Gonçalves a delegation with about 20 Peruvian manufacturers of furniture accessories. During this mission, visitors will learn about the manufacturing process used by companies based in the area, since they are a benchmark for technology and processes in Latin America. They will also receive information about the role of the association and its products.
Peru has stood out in the economic growth in Latin America in recent years and it is considered by the World Bank as one of the best business environments in the area. As the furniture industry of that country does not meet the local demand, furniture imports are high. Last year, Peru was the second largest market for furniture exporters based in Bento Gonçalves, totaling US$ 5.78 million. However, there was decrease of 25.8% over the previous year.
In the first quarter of 2015, it was the main foreign market for furniture made in Bento Gonçalves, an increase of over 50% over the previous year, despite the overall decline in exports faced by the industry.
