Featuring more cash prizes and two product shows next year, the deadline to enter the Salão Design Award, organized by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves, expires in one month. Students, designers and architects, furniture companies and retail businesses can register their designer products until October 2, exclusively at the www.salaodesign.com.br website.
The organizers point out that it is important to read the regulations carefully, avoiding the identification of projects and other situations that may cause their elimination before the jury evaluation. In 2018, the Salão Design Award will celebrate its 30th anniversary, having received so far 13,584 entries.
Attention to the changes made to the award!
The next competition will no longer have its traditional categories. Now, each class (Student, Professional and Industry/Retail) will have first, second and third places. Three super-prizes will also be awarded for best product. The Master Teacher Trophy and the Alternative Woods Award – the latter in partnership with the Brazilian Forest Service, will continue to be handed out.
The winners will be chosen in two phases by a judging committee that will be announced by the last day of the registration period. Firstly, competitors submit their graphic projects to be evaluated by the judging panel, who chooses the finalists. These finalists send their full-size pieces to the final judgment and announcement of the winners.
Sponsored by Berneck and Interprint, the 2018 Salão Design Award will hold two product exhibitions: in March, during the Movelsul Brasil fair (where the awards ceremony will also take place), and in August at the High Design – Home & Office Expo.
