US consultants present another part of the business plan to export Brazilian design

04/12/2014
Until December 9, the Orchestra Brasil Project will be holding the second round of meetings between the studios that take part in the Design Challenge project and the three American consultants invited to support the creation of a unique line of Brazilian products for the New York market. During meetings held in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bento Gonçalves, the consultants are presenting to the designers the business plan prepared to enter the US design circuit.
A total of 29 studios joined the initiative set up by the Orchestra Brasil Project, which aims to develop products to be marketed in the United States, creating a brand identity and a global perception of Brazilian design. The dynamics of this initiative is similar to a contest. Participating designers could submit up to five projects, which were evaluated by a committee of experts in international strategy, product development and market adaptation.
Now, the selected designers are developing their products with the advice from the Orchestra Brasil Project and the US consultants. The approved furniture and accessories will be part of a collection to be launched in March 2015. The Project Orchestra Brazil has been carried out since 2006 promoting the competitive inclusion of suppliers of the woodworking sector in the international market. Initially, it was intended for manufacturers of finishes, accessories, tools, machines, raw materials, chemicals and technology.  As of 2012, it also included design services.
